Year 6 visit to State Parliament

Last week, our Year 6 students attended State Parliament and participated in a role-play and tour of the building. The students acted out the various roles within Parliament during their role-play about passing a bill that fast food advertising should be banned. The role-play took place in the Legislative Assembly chamber and allowed the students to experience the law-making process first hand.

This excursion links back to the curriculum as the students study the History topic “Australia as a Nation”; they will be able to use their experience as they learn about democracy in greater depth.
