Each year, Braemar offers our Year 12 students a ‘schoolies alternative’ trip. This will be the third year that a group of Year 12 students, along with a number of teachers and Braemar leaders, will travel to Nepal to climb to Mount Everest Base Camp.
This year’s group have already got their training hikes underway; they head off campus each Wednesday after school and trek together in preparation for the end of the year.
Yesterday, Wednesday 10 May, the group – accompanied by Ms Jessie Shipp and our Principal, Mr Russell Deer – trekked up Mount Macedon to the Memorial Cross. They spent the trek talking and laughing together; reenforcing the strong feeling of camaraderie that has developed over their training. All signs point to 2017 providing another amazing schoolies alternative for our students.
