Year 5 Fun at Sovereign Hill

Our Year 5 students enjoyed their trip to Sovereign Hill last week  based around  the 1850s Gold Rush.img_0002

Over the course of the 3 day camp, students visited the Made Museum of Australian Democracy in Ballarat, and learnt about the Eureka Flag and the Eureka Stockade as part of their Encounter studies.img_9985

Students loved the experience, particularly dressing up in the clothes of the times, and being  part of  the living museum at Sovereign Hill.img_1168

They attended four different 1850s schools, playing the part of students while visitors looked on.img_9979

Students also visited the Blood on the Southern Cross light and sound show.img_0027

Apart from gold panning, they said that the thing they liked most was being part of the living museum and dressing up.
