Our Braemar College Equestrian team who has taken out the Equestrian Victoria Interschool State Championships for the second year in a row.

This year’s competition was held over a week at Werribee Park Equestrian Centre, and attracted 488 competitors from 173 schools riding 635 horses.

As well as the overall competition, riders competed for individual awards and a place on the Victorian team for the National Championships to be held in Sydney later this year.

The five Braemar College riders who qualified were Jess Martin, Alice Taylor, Lizzie Brand, Harry Luxmoore and Izzy Luxmore. Other members of the Braemar College Equestrian Team may also secure a berth at the National Championships after competing in the Victorian Equestrian Interschool series during the year.

Braemar College on 454.5 points took out the Title ahead of nearest rivals, Geelong Grammar School on 445 points.

Harry Luxmore was awarded the Nan McArthur Award for the best-performed primary rider whilst Izzy Luxmoore was runner-up for the same award in the secondary rider category.
