Braemar College Equestrian

The  Pony Club Association of Victoria held their State Dressage Championships recently in the Yarra Ranges.  Each pony club district (Zone) selects their best 3 riders to represent them in each of the 3 highest pony club dressage grades (1-3).
The Macedon Ranges is part of the pony club Central zone which stretches from Kyneton in the north down to Williamstown in the south and as far east as Whittlesea.
IMG_6166This year the Central zone sent 8 riders to this important event, 6 of them were Braemar College students!
Just gaining selection to this event is a big achievement, but the Braemar College riders’ fantastic performances saw Central Zone achieve arguably their best ever result at the State Championships.
Lily Cowburn, Phillippa Rushford and Alice Taylor’s Grade 3 team took home first place (Phillippa also took out the individual State Champion award), while Lizzie Brand was victorious in the Grade 2 team championship.  The Grade 1 event is an individual rather than team event and Isabelle Luxmoore and Jayde Kirkham (Y12 2015) both represented Central Zone with Isabelle taking out 4th place in the top grade.
This was a fantastic performance for Central Zone and Braemar College!
