Host families wanted for Japanese students

As part of Cultural Diversity Week which occurs in March, Braemar College will once again be hosting a group of students from Tokai City in Japan.

The visiting students are aged 13 – 15 and will be accommodated in homestay arrangements. If you are interested in hosting a visiting student, please contact the homestay organiser, Mr Yuki Asano from Melbourne Homestay Centre: melhomestay@bigpond.com

Prospective host parents are required to have a current Working With Children Check. Our Japanese visitors will require accommodation and three meals per day, from 16 – 20 March (4 nights). Additionally, it would be appreciated if host families could arrange a special cultural or tourist-focused activity on Saturday 19 March. Remuneration will be provided. To maximise the immersion experience for our young visitors, only one Japanese student will be placed with each host family. Visiting students that are hosted by Braemar College families may be permitted to travel to and from school on the College buses; however, this will depend on the availability of seats. It may be necessary for host families to provide transport to and from the College on 17 and 18 March.

Please contact the Melbourne Homestay Centre for more information and to register your interest:
