Last Monday, The Australian Shakespeare Theatre Company visited Braemar College to work with Year 10 and Year 11 students interpreting and understanding Shakespeare’s, The Merchant of Venice and Macbeth .
The visit gave students an opportunity to experience a live performance of key scenes from the plays.
Students were given some opportunities to participate in the performances.
The experience also allowed students to engage with experienced performers about their interpretations of key scenes and elements of the text.
The simple, travelling band of performers approach allowed everyone to enjoy the accessibility of Shakespeare as it was intend to be performed.
Performances were held in Heyward Hall.
