It’s been a busy week of sport at Braemar College with a number of significant competitions taking place.
Congratulations to our 80 strong team who took out the Victorian Schools Orienteering Championship for the twelfth year in a row.
Braemar College also won the category of Best Co-Ed School.
Congratulations to everyone who competed, and thanks to our parent helpers for their invaluable assistance on the day.
INDEPENDENT COUNTRY CO-ED SCHOOLS (ICCES) ATHLETICS
On 12 May, 90 students in Years 7 to 12 represented Braemar College at Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park in the Independent Country Co-Ed Schools (ICCES) Athletics.
ICCES is the major association we compete in, and comprises Braemar College, Ballarat Grammar, Gippsland Grammar, Hamilton College, Bacchus Marsh Grammar, Goulburn Valley Grammar, Girton Grammar and Highview College.
Braemar College students competed in various track and field events, performing particularly well in the relays this year.
Students worked hard in a new training program in the lead up to the competition. They trained two nights a week for the preceding three weeks and this fostered a great team spirit. It also helped students to achieve their best in this higher level of competition.
Year 5 and 6 competed last Monday in the Cobaw Soccer competition held at Gisborne Fields. Both our boys and girls’ teams finished fourth out of nine teams, which was a great result.
We were very lucky with the weather and there was a great team spirit on the day.
Thank you to all our parent helpers.
