Congratulations to Braemar College Hospitality Assistant, Rochelle Andrews who graduates this Saturday after completing her Certificate 111 in Hospitality (Catering Operations).
Rochelle completed her two year course in just ten months, and will continue on with commercial cookery studies to become a qualified chef.
She started in hospitality after leaving school, and has always enjoyed cooking, but became even more interested in following this career path after she managed a cafe while the owners were overseas, and this required her to do all the cooking.
She loves food and food preparation, and finds it very rewarding when people say how much they have enjoyed her cooking.
Rochelle has worked in a cafes, hotels, bakeries and restaurants and says it’s important to be versatile to work in hospitality.
Rochelle says she’s had huge support from the entire hospitality staff, and that the College is always a fun environment to work in.
Her advice to students intending to follow a career path in hospitality is, “Work to your strengths, set goals and get as much experience as you can.”
