Some changes will be occurring to the Braemar College uniform from the commencement of 2015. Students in Year 5 and 6 in 2015 will be in a formal uniform to reflect their connection with and integration into the Middle School and College as a whole.
At the Parent Information Evening on Monday 10 October, the evolution of Year 5 and 6 was discussed. In recent years several changes have taken place including the integration of these students into full College events such as House carnivals and competitions. At the start of 2013 the Year 5 and 6 classes moved into Braemar House where they would be physically located at the heart of the College campus. Most recently we have made the decision to develop a teaching program that will reflect a consistent approach across Years 5-8. To complete this process of integration, our Year 5 and 6 students will wear a uniform that identifies them as being at one with the rest of the school.
We have worked closely with Noone Imagewear, our current uniform suppliers, to procure samples. Through meetings with the Uniform Committee and consultation with staff and students, we have now finalised the uniform for students in Years 5-8 for 2015 and beyond.
A new shirt for students in Years 5-7 will be phased in for all other year levels over the next two years.
Students in Years 5-8 will not be required to wear a tie on a daily basis, but will need to purchase one for special events such as Celebration Night and when representing the College at formal events.
We encourage all parents to utilise the second hand uniform facility on the College blog to both buy and sell uniform items however, please take these uniform changes into account when making purchases for 2015.
Uniform lists for 2015 will be emailed to parents this week.
Please feel free to contact Mrs Ros Shipp, Head of Middle School, if you have any questions regarding the uniform in general or specific queries about the changes for 2015: email@example.com
Towards the end of the year Noone Imagewear will schedule fittings for new students to purchase their uniform.
If you have already purchased uniform items for 2015 and the tags are still intact, Noone’s has agreed to refund or exchange these items even if you no longer have the receipts.
