Year 5 Braemar College student, Jack Repka has only been doing Taekwondo since last November, but already he has shown he is a force to be reckoned with.
Jack recently won the gold medal for the Victorian State championships in the Under 11 Yellow Belt Division, which means he now goes to the National Championships later this year. He and his partner Alyssa also won gold in the Pairs Yellow Belt Division at the State Championships, and now progress to the Nationals for that event also.
Since the Victorian Championships, Jack has been training three to four times a week in preparation for the next stage of competition.
He is training both in Gisborne at his local club, and down in Craigieburn with the state team, and whilst he is hoping to do well at the National championships, Jack wants to just continue to enjoy the sport.
Jack likes the self defence aspect of Taekwondo and he also enjoys learning the forms (Poomsae) required to progress to the next level.
Congratulations to Jack on a fabulous achievement. We wish him all the best at the National titles.
