On Tuesday our Year 5 and 6 students represented Braemar College in the Cobaw District Basketball Competition at Boardman Stadium in Sunbury.
They should all be congratulated on their wonderful endeavour, participation and sportsmanship.
The girls team, coached by Claire Klusik was challenged by some very strong opposition, but never gave up, managing to win two of their games and drawing 1. They improved a lot over the day and played with terrific enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
The boys team came third overall winning all of their games but two, one of which was a draw. The boys just missed a place in the final. In a very short space of time, coaches Angus Street and Riley Patterson (Year 11) inspired the boys to play exceptionally well as a team. As there were a large number of Grade 5 students involved, the future looks bright for primary boys basketball.
A big thank you to Claire Klusik, Angus Street and Riley Patterson who coached the teams on the day.
