2014 VCE Leadership Award Winner

Congratulations to Sam Hasell who has been selected as a winner of a VCAA 2014 VCE Leadership Award.

Sam is one of the instigators of Pipe up Poetry-Macedon Ranges, which encourages poetry slammers from all over the state to perform their work in the Macedon Ranges.

BRC130207CC-007Sam is also a founder of Youngblood Poets, an online community for young people to celebrate each other’s works and to share their own.

Pipe Up and Youngblood Poets are all about showing the world that the stereotype is wrong. They’re about making the world see and listen and acknowledge.

The VCE leadership Awards are coordinated by the VCAA to recognise VCE students for their leadership, initiative and involvement in extra-curricular and community activities.

In a letter of recognition for the award, the VCAA thanked Braemar College staff member, Anthony Young for bringing Sam’s achievements to their attention.

They also acknowledged Braemar College for providing such a nurturing environment that has enabled inspiring young people to participate and lead.

Congratulations to Sam who will be presented with a trophy, certificate and prize at an award ceremony on 28 November.
