Voices in Jackson Hall

Parents and students who attended the Vocal Soiree in Jackson Hall on 21 May, were entertained by a varied repertoire from the College’s very talented singers.

The evening was co-compered by Amber Hemmes – Braemar College Music Captain and Lauren Smedley, this year’s Choral Captain.

Vocal tutors, Savanna Griechen and Raleigh Williams supported and even accompanied some of their students on the night. To their credit, a number of students accompanied themselves either on guitar or piano. Others were accompanied by Mr John Tungyep.

Georgia Martin’s vocal students will be performing at their Vocal Soiree early in Term 3.

The Chamber Choir conducted by Savanna Griechen and accompanied by John Tungyep is preparing for Bendigo Eisteddfod next month. They performed ‘Drooping Wings’ from Handel’s opera, ‘Dido and Aneas’ with Lauren Smedley singing the featured solo, which was  followed by  Tim Minchen’s vocal composition, ‘Horrible Children’ which forms part of his larger “Matilda’.
